Sarah and Doug

Sarah and Doug were married on a beautiful July day at the Old Round Church of Richmond, http://www.oldroundchurch.com/ and celebrated their reception at The Barn at Lang Farm, http://www.langbarn.com/.

Their Vermont country wedding included so many unique details, including green sneakers for the flower girls and ring bearer, pony tails for the bride and her bridesmaids, and this beautiful nest made of green feathers, which was used to carry the rings down the aisle.

This couple radiated fun from the planning process to the very last song of the night! Highlights included the bride being carried into the reception, big prop sunglasses during the surprisingly upbeat father-daughter dance, and a rubber chicken being pulled from under the bride's dress during the garter removal!

The all-green candy buffet was a huge hit with kids and adults and was a great way to thank everyone for coming.

Another great touch was the way the couple incorporated Johnny Cash into their wedding theme by using a Johnny Cash book as their guest book and giving each table the name of one of his timeless tunes.

What a fun wedding party!

Check out the ring bearer's face! Then be sure to take a look at those kelly green shoes of his. Awesome.

What a beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple!

Keely and Tom

Keely and Tom exchanged their vows at the beautiful and historic Shelburne Museum, http://shelburnemuseum.org/visit/about-the-museum/facility-rentals/. Their wedding was packed full of personal details from start to finish, down to the food, which was lovingly prepared by the groom himself.

The happy couple were even able to find a beautiful covered bridge nearby. A perfect place to pose for some pictures and to celebrate their first few moments as Mr. and Mrs. in privacy.

Recycled mason jars and biodegradable utensils and dishes were just a few of their efforts to have a "green" wedding. Simple arrangements of white lisianthus were breathtaking against the view from this Charlotte lakeside residence.

The love shared by Keely and Tom was abundant to all who were there. In fact, this wedding was filled to the brim with love. From the moment Keely and Tom greeted each other for a private moment before the ceremony, to the speech given by the sister of the bride, tears of joy flowed freely at key moments by many. The father of the groom recited an Irish Blessing, and there couldn't have been a dry eye there.

(Love the leg!)

The cake was as delicious as it was beautiful, and was provided by http://www.facebook.com/CrowningConfections?ref=ts.

These pictures do not do this location justice. Picture a family residence, homey with a lot of family history, located right on the edge of Lake Champlain in beautiful Charlotte, VT. Then add in a peaked white tent, standing tall against a gleaming lake with a spectacular sunset. The day progressed seamlessly and the transition from a bright afternoon to a starlit night sky was perfect!

Keely walked down the aisle to Sea of Love performed by Cat Power, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbMeAOTPJzM. This was such a fitting song for this couple and I still melt whenever I hear it.

An Old Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

SLW's Beginning

Wedding Stress is my business. In essence, I am a buyer of stress. No bride should be encumbered with the details of her wedding on her special day, nor needs to be. That's where I come in. As a Certified Wedding Planner (http://www.weddingplanninginstitute.com/courses.html), I tend to as many or as few details as my clients request. My services range from simple Day-Of Coordination to Full-Service Wedding Planning. Although I love it all, my passion lies within the details... I love organizing the who's, what's, where's and when's of "I Do". There's a moment during every wedding where I catch a glimpse on the bride's face that says it all... and then I know I've done my job well!

My flare for Event Design is probably my biggest. I enjoy arranging flowers, designing tablescapes, and creating an overall design for a bride's wedding day vision. Give me tape, scissors and a staple gun any day... oh, and I'm a whiz with a glue gun.

Wedding planning was really a no-brainer for me. I think I've always been a wedding planner but just realized it a few years ago. After months of planning my own wedding and finally walking down the aisle, it occurred to me that wedding planning was something I truly loved doing. A career made for me, in fact. It was then that I realized that if I didn't become a wedding planner, I would probably start looking for excuses to get remarried, again and again.

After struggling with personal timing issues and the conception of a name, Samantha Little Weddings & Events was born in 2010. Alongside assisting family and friends with their nuptials, I had coordinated my first "paid" wedding in August of 2008, just 11 short days before my father passed away. Although he didn't think wedding and event planning was a practical career in Vermont (little did he know that Vermont is the third most popular location for destination weddings in the U.S.), he was my biggest cheerleader and supported my dream from day one. He was so proud when I walked in at 12:30am, completely thrilled and exhausted, having just successfully coordinated my first wedding. I think of him often, and as SLW continues to grow, I offer him a silent thank you and a wink.

With the summer of 2010 behind me, I am keeping myself busy in the off-season. It has been a time of networking with other reputable area vendors, building my name, and preparing to host my own vendor booth at future bridal shows. I will be showcasing some past weddings on here soon.

Thanks for your interest in SLW... more to come soon...
